class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p>One of Client Beta\u2019s liftgate trailers was on a delivery route when its battery stopped charging.\nIn a normal scenario, a tractor driving over a speed of 35 mph would charge the liftgate battery.\nHowever, in Client Beta\u2019s unit, the battery kept losing power and not charging.\nAt the rate the liftgate battery was losing power, it would\u2019ve stopped working in a matter of hours\u2014meaning an over-the-road breakdown which would have cost Client Beta at least hundreds of dollars.\nIn addition to this up-front cost, over-the-road liftgate repairs tend to be timeconsuming\u2014potentially increasing unscheduled downtime and delivery loss    <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" Star Breakdown Service (SBS), the brain behind Star Leasing\u2019s off-branch and over-the-road services.\nThe operation headquartered in Norcross, Georgia is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week to help drivers with breakdowns anytime, anywhere. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FLAGGED_ISSUE\"><\/span>FLAGGED ISSUE:<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p>What better way to take care of an equipment issue than to be notified before it happens?\nThe SBS team monitored low liftgate battery life in one of Client Beta\u2019s units.\nUpon analyzing the battery lifecycle data dashboard, we saw that the tractor-trailer was running well over 35 mph\u2014the minimum speed to start charging the liftgate battery, indicating that something was blocking the battery from charging.\nAfter further investigation, our team determined that the tractor pulling the trailer did not have the proper connection port to charge the liftgate battery.   <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"THE_DIFFERENCE\"><\/span>THE DIFFERENCE<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p>The Star Breakdown Service contacted the Client Beta team immediately and informed them about the liftgate battery charge issue.\nThe solution provided was virtually free as the trailer needed to simply be pulled by a different tractor in order to charge the liftgate battery.\nWithout trailer telematics installed on their unit and SBS\u2019s 24\/7 monitoring capabilities, Client Beta would have never known about the liftgate battery charge issue.\nThe battery would have died causing an over-the-road breakdown that would have been costly
